World Dance Competition is truly a competition like no other! Our competition sets itself apart from the rest by taking place at the Walt Disney World® Resort, one of the world's top vacation destinations! Our competition also includes parade performances, celebrity judges, workshops and more! There are over 150 dance competitions to chose from in the United States. Here are a few questions to consider when deciding on which national dance competition to attend.
Sharna Burgess from Dancing with the Stars on ABC will be joining us for the Dance The World and World Dance Competition events at the Walt Disney World® Resort in 2020.
A native Australian based out of Los Angeles, Sharna Burgess, is a creator, storyteller, choreographer and all-around performer whose work spans theater, film, Broadway, and television.
Burgess began dancing at only five years old. At this young age, she started to train in ballet, jazz, and gymnastics. She began to study ballroom dance at the age of eight. She was chosen to represent Australia at the World Championships in both the Standard and Latin styles and performed in the 2000 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony at only 15 years old.
Once she turned 18, Sharna moved to London where she collected numerous titles and appeared on a UK tour with the show Simply Ballroom. After appearing on Simply Ballroom Sharna toured with Burn the Floor for the next six years and was also apart of the cast once the show moved to Broadway. Sharna Burgess' first television appearances were on the Australian Dancing with the Stars (took out the comma) and So You Think You Can Dance in Belgium and the Netherlands. She joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars on ABC as a troupe member for season 13 in 2011. She also assisted So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Jason Gilkison on both the Australian and American versions of the show. She remained on the Dancing with the Stars troupe until the end of season 15 and became a regular pro on season 16 of the show. While on Dancing with the Stars, her popularity rose very quickly becoming a regular finalist and fan favorite. In 2018, Sharna won her first Mirror Ball Trophy with partner Bobby Bones. In 2019 Sharna joined the judges' panel for Dance with the Stars Australia.
During Dance The World Sharna will warm-up performers at rehearsals, teach a masterclass workshop, and perform at the gala. During World Dance Competition, Sharna will help judge the competition alongside Geo Hubela and David Houde, host a masterclass workshop, and perform at the gala dinner event and awards ceremony.

Dance The World and World Dance Competition will be here before you know you it. We are just a few weeks away from our events at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Here's a few things to keep in mind before and during your trip to the most magical place on Earth!
New and exciting additions are coming to World Dance Competition in 2020. World Dance Competition will still offer a unique, competitive dance experience along with a parade performance opportunity at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Along with the group entries of the competition, World Dance Competition is excited to introduce solos, duos, and trios! Solos, duos, and trios will be allotted based on the total number of performers in your dance studio that are participating in this event. Performers can compete in the solos, duos, and trios portion of the competition for an additional cost. A separate panel of judges will adjudicate this portion of World Dance Competition. There is a maximum of three minutes per entry.

In the summer of 2017, World Class Vacations launched a brand-new dance event at Walt Disney World known as the World Dance Competition! This event is a dance competition like no other. Dancers have the opportunity to perform with their studio in a dance competition and then get to be a part of a parade through a Disney park! Our judges in 2017 included Witney Carson from Dancing with the Stars, Geo Hubela, a well-known hip hop dancer and choreographer, and David Houde, a Disney Talent and Entertainment Manager. Lindsay Arnold, a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars, will be joining the team for 2018! Geo Hubela and David Houde will be returning to adjudicate the competition as well.
We are proud to announce that professional dancer, Lindsay Arnold, will be our Celebrity for Dance The World and the World Dance Competition in 2018! We are so excited to have Lindsay join our team this upcoming summer. (Read below to learn more about Lindsay and her journey becoming a celebrity performer!)
