Dance The World Broadway 2018 Thank You!

Posted by Takwan Hargrove on Aug 2, 2018 4:23:00 PM

Dance The World Broadway 2018 was a huge success! Our staff had a blast and we hope you did too! Congratulations to all dancers, dance instructors, and directors on a job well done! Thank you for putting in so much hard work and giving us a show we will never forget! It was great to see so many families and friends take part in the event!

During their weekend in New York City, performers had the opportunity to dance on a Broadway stage, perform in the middle of Times Square, take celebrity masterclasses and Disney workshops! Many families opted to culminate the event with an NYC skyline dinner/ dance cruise.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals were filled with so much excitement! Dancers were surprised when they were warmed up by Sharna Burgess from Dancing With The Stars! During rehearsals, the staff and instructors witnessed dancers from different studios come together and perform as one. Each studio came prepared and performed the choreography perfectly!

Times Square Performance

After months of planning and rehearsing it was FINALLY time to perform in Times Square! This is the moment everyone had been waiting for! During the Times Square performance, the crowd was accompanied by our two talented hosts Ella Glasgow and Sharna Burgess! The Times Square performance was filled with so much energy, enthusiasm, and happiness from friends, family, dance instructors and even bystanders. The event finally came to life! Performers danced in the middle of Times Square with the illuminating billboards and skyscrapers all around!

Stage Performances

Dreams really do come true! Each studio performed their own choreography on a Broadway stage! Dance studios had the opportunity to dance on stage at the Minskoff Theatre (home of The Lion King) or the New Amsterdam Theatre (home of Aladdin). This was truly a rare opportunity for dancers to perform on a stage that most people only dream of doing!

Workshops

Dancers learned a special choreography from Lindsay Arnold from Dancing With The Stars during her workshop! Dancers also had the chance to take a workshop at Pearl Studios with Disney cast members!

NYC Skyline Dinner/Dance Cruise

To celebrate, performers, instructors, and families danced the night away on an NYC Skyline Dinner Cruise! Those in attendance had a buffet style dinner and saw a breathtaking view of the New York City skyline and Statue of Liberty from the New York harbor!
